Driving in South Africa

There are a few simple things you should bear in mind to make sure you enjoy a stress-free visit:

• PETROL STATIONS DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, so please make sure you have enough cash to pay for your fuel before filling up.
• Always carry your documentation with you when driving; driving licence, passport, contract from the hire company & insurance documents for the vehicle.
• Never use a mobile phone while driving unless you have a hands free/bluetooth kit.
• Always wear your seatbelt.
• Drink driving is illegal and the combination of sun and alcohol can be a deadly one - don't risk it.
