Welcome to Kingfisher Country House.
This delightful country house is situated at the edge of the magnificent
indigenous forest, in the heart of the Wilderness national Park. The Kingfisher is the ideal base from which to
hike. Explore the exciting and breathtakingly beautiful rivers, lakes and beaches. Come and experience the many
moods of Wilderness. A stay of about 3 - 5 days (if possible) is recommended. We specialize in helping our guests
to discover and enjoy the beauty of our little piece of paradise.
Your hosts, Phil and Sue Millard look forward to welcoming you. They offer you relaxed, friendly hospitality and
a truly wonderful holiday. A delicious country breakfast (including freshly baked scones and muffins) is served
on the on the wide covered verandah where you can also relax after an exciting day and watch the prolific bird
life whilst sipping a well-earned sundowner - heaven!
The rooms all have their own character and style to choose from;
BUTTERFLY ROOM - Antique

LAVENDER ROOM - Antique

OAK ROOM - All four
bedrooms have king-size beds which may be separated into twin beds. All beds have very comfortable top quality
mattresses. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, heaters, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryers and private entrances
into the tranquil, spacious garden.
There are so many activities on offer in the area, it is difficult to list them all!
- HIKING - Enjoy
the fantastic hikes on offer in the Garden Route.
- BIRD WATCHING -
Bird-watching with experienced & knowledgeable guide (if required).
- STEAM TRAIN TRIPS
- choose between the Outeniqua Tjoe-Choe (chug gently along between Knysna and George) and the Outeniqua PowerVan
where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Garden Route's scenic splendor
- CANOEING - canoe
along the serpentine as it winds it way through the forest.
- EXCITING ADVENTURE TOURS
- with Eden Adventures.
- HORSE-RIDING -
around lakes, beach, and in forest.
- MOUNTAIN BIKING
- on Swartberg Pass or in Wilderness. Mountain bike trails in natural indigenous forest.
- PARAGLIDING - single
or tandem.
For those who enjoy the gentler pursuits, one of the greatest pleasures
is WHALE
and DOLPHIN WATCHING from comfortable
open motorized launches - an amazing experience! Whale season is mid-June to December.
You can also browse the quaint local shops, follow the woodcutters trail or try a spot of Golf. World famous golf
courses are about 20 min away, but please let us know if any reservations need to be made.
For adrenaline junkies you can try bungy-jumping from the worlds highest jump site, Blackwater tubing or even diving
with sharks (in steel cages of course).
