Welcome to Thatcher's Country Guesthouse, a lovely thatched homestead
on a working farm, set in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings of the beautiful Biggarsberg. An ideal stopover
between Kruger Park/Gauteng and Natal Coast, the battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift are closeby, and
guided tours can be arranged.
Enjoy a hearty Farm breakfast on the verandah overlooking one of the dams, and watch the Egyptian Geese, Guinea
Fowl and other bird life frolicking in the waters, only footsteps away. Good home cooking is served in a relaxed
family atmosphere. Thatcher's is a tastefully decorated country style home with a beautiful thatch finish. All
of our guest rooms are individually decorated with a style and unique personality of their own.
Three double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed, and one adjoining a twin bedded room forming a family
suite. All offer tea & coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms all with underfloor heating.
Relax around a roaring log fire on winter evenings after a days fishing, hiking or simply lazing about, or enjoy
satellite TV in the TV lounge. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Thatcher's Country Guest House offers a variety
of activities to keep you busy. You can enjoy the tranquil serenity and beauty of the area by taking a hike in
the beautiful Biggarsberg. Luxury B&B Hiking Trails are also available whereby you take a guided scenic hike
with a scrumptious three course luncheon laid out en-route. Explore the Biggarsberg on horse back or go for picnic
rides in this beautiful picturesque countryside. Trout and Bass fishing is also available.
There are plenty of leisure activities available, including;

Take a step back in time and visit the famous battlefields of the Isandlwana, Rorke's Drift, Elandslaagte and many
others, all within close proximity. Guided tours by accredited tour guides can be arranged.

All horse rides are by prior arrangement only.
- FISHING - catch
'the big one' bass fishing available on site or trout fishing can be arranged on a nearby farm.

- Thatcher's offer the ideal venue for your special day, without the fuss and the bother of organising it yourself.
Wedding ceremonies can be held on our deck overlooking the dam, with a view directly to the mountains, making you
truly at one with nature as you take your wedding vows. Catholic wedding ceremonies can be held in the newly restored
and most beautiful Maria Ratchitz Mission Church only a few kilometres from Thatcher's. The Thatcher's Team will
co-ordinate and organise your wedding down to the finest detail, with menus that are compiled to suit your personal
taste. We can organise your flowers, photography, music, even a horse drawn carriage etc. We will ensure that your
day is truly a memorable occasion for you & your guests.
